mr Frederik Barthel, LL.M., Cep Lawyer (partner)
Frederik Barthel (1971) was born and raised in Amerongen, a small village in the Dutch countryside with an impressive history. It was there that his passion for law, history and international relations was born. At the age of 18 he spread his wings and used his student years to live, study and work in the United States, France and Belgium.
But then, as often in life, plans and prospects changed and so ended the international travels in 1996; Frederik returned to The Hague where he got a position as a financial advisor.
His passion for the legal profession remained and in 2002 he was offered the opportunity to combine the law profession with financial advice. Since 2002 Frederik works for the law firm Hoens & Souren Keereweer Advocaten; the firm and also Frederik is specialised in two main areas: legal riskmanagement & crisismanagement; thus, to prevent and solve problems for (international) corporate clients. Helping to build companies in the 4th Revolution and helping to create (legal) solutions in the energy transition. Frederik his aim is to be the trusted advisor and (legal) sparringpartner.
Apart from work, Frederik is married, has three childeren and is committed to different causes, foundations and associations. Although he is not a member of a political party, he is interested in (international) politics and enjoys to put or see politics in a historical perspective. As the French say: 'Souvent, l’histoire se répète'; and then one has two options. Either one has learned from ones mistake, or one will make the same mistake again.
